Briley and Mike...
We go way back. Almost to around the same sort of time. Briley has been my beautiful friend since I walked through the gates of a new high school at 15. I was shy, I was friendless, I didn’t want to be there. She befriended me. I knew she liked me straight away because she put her hand in my pocket. (Not on the first day or anything lol) I thought that was weird, but I was in no position to turn away friends. I learned this to be the sweet, cute Briley I still know and love today (a little less of her hands in my pockets though)…soon she was just putting her hand in my pocket to nick my lip gloss. I forgive you Briley.
Mike entered the scene a relative, 6 months later, give or take. I remember sitting on the benches at school during lunch and talking about their first kiss. And many more details that 16 year olds talk about. I’ve always liked you Mike! I’m glad Briley’s keeping you. :)
Fast forward 7/8 years and here we have a beautiful engaged couple. Mike popped the question 3 years ago, on a night cruise on a boat in Sydney’s Harbour. At dinner. With loads of people around them. He got down on one knee. Briley went into a state of shock. “Will you marry me?”. No answer. “Briley?. No answer. Then the mental fairy’s in Briley’s head slapped her and she came to and said “Yes!!!”.
I just want to point out that I feel like the luckiest person in the world that I will be able to capture them on their special day. I’ll get to see Briley prepping her beauty, prepping her nerves before she walks up the aisle. I’ll get to see Mike’s chilled out state (but really his heart will be pounding a million miles an hour) before he gets in the car to head to the ceremony. I’ll get to see both sides, both emotions before they say their “I do’s”. That to me is better than anything else.
I had Mike and Briley meet me in Belfast intending on using a location I’d driven past. Then I changed my mind. I asked if they wouldn’t mind just going up the road to a beach? hehe I realllly pushed my luck and we went alllllll the way out to Leithfield. (somewhat another 20 minutes up the road).
AND. IT. WAS. SO. WORTH. IT!
I had to encourage a little affection on Briley’s behalf. And she did it with such elegance and grace.
I love the below image of the two of them.
The evening light was spectacular.
Chasing some affection here. Go get her Mike!
I shoot with my idea’s according to my couple. Briley is sweet, so a walk on the beach at sunset was magic.
Just to make it clear people… he’s kissing her chest!
Great dip Briley!
The evening just pulled out all the stops for us. Making a 40 minute drive out there so worth it!
I’m itching for your March 2012 wedding guys. It’s going to be beautiful, Briley you’ll be stunning and I think you’ll scrub up quite nicely too Mike ;-)
Love you both,
