We’re in May already? …. MAY! … Note to 2014, it’s okay to slow down! Like really, it’s okaaaay to let the minutes tick over like the tortoise, and not the hare! Although I’d love time to slow down to savour the moments more… there isn’t a doubt that these last 4 months have been EPIC! We’ve been shooting many gorgeous weddings, blogging many different and amazing couples, travelling here and there, meeting new couples who have only just started planning their weddings, while still loving personal time with our friends and family! … There has been no shortage of excitement and that’s the way we LOVE life!!!
It feels like just the other week we were meeting Kat and Owen and chatting with them as their wedding plans had just commenced. And it feels like the other day that we were getting to know each other more during their engagement shoot. It feels like practically this morning that they were telling us their story of how Owen was Kat’s first kiss at 15, and how the 10 years they had apart, shaped them into the people they are today. So when they crossed paths in the park during a run 5 years ago, and went on to see each other the very next day as well, purely by chance. … Well something was in the stars!
I love a good ‘meant to be’ story and I knew their wedding day was going to be beyond FANTASTIC! … We weren’t at all disappointed! Quite the opposite, we were absolutely astonished!
Kat and Owen chose All Saints Church to declare their lives to each other and the warmth of Trents Vineyard to celebrate this occasion with their family and friends! … And they chose us (And the awesome JD Smit Productions) to capture every little bit of their beautiful wedding day!
Dad watches on as his already stunning daughter, becomes a stunning bride!
I couldn’t help but giggle a little bit. Kat is waaaay more organized than I’ll ever be!! A trait I admire in someone! So when we were talking timelines, Owen stated that if Kat was late to the ceremony, he’ll be leaving. She has until 3.15pm to get there. So when it came to leaving for the ceremony… Kat was in noooo hurry, she was so utterly relaxed and just living and looking at every part of the day that she’d so beautifully put together! So Owen may have been looking down at his new present a little bit, but the beautiful bride made it by 3.14pm, so all was right with the world!! hehe
Sealed with a Kiss! Owen was Kat’s first kiss at 15 and will be her last kiss when they’re old and grey with a life time of memories behind them! ….
However, before we get ahead of ourselves… follow me through to Part 2 for the rest of their beautiful wedding day!
