Rochelle. She always knew that when she met someone, she’d get married quite quickly..she just didn’t realise it’d be THIS quick!
2 and a half years ago. Rogerio attended a show where Rochelle was singing. He was struck instantly. Until he was told that she was going to the UK a matter of days later. He thought to himself ‘She’s got too much talent for a small place like Christchurch’. And that was that.
Fast forward 2 years… a mutual friend wanted to introduce them both. They should of met last July, but it took til October to meet. Rochelle didn’t want a relationship… I think we can say for certain that, that all changed once her and Rogerio met.
Where’d they meet? A Casablanca Party. Did they hit it off? … You could say… Rogerio had to slump into the corner to compose himself.
And just meeting them 1 week before their wedding… I can already tell… come earthquakes, come hard studies, come travel and babies… come life… they are 100% perfect for one another. They were what each other had been waiting for. And I think it was worth the wait!
So here we are, 8 months after meeting and 2 weeks to plan the wedding after deciding to change the date from December. Rochelle & Rogerio married at Akaroa Cottages. It may not have been sunny, it may not have been warm. But they hugged, laughed, joked and most of all became man and wife in front of a group of their closest people.
I was standing on one side of the house as I watched an upbeat Rochelle walk through the door to her future husband and a flick of the head to the right was Rogerio, awaiting his future wife.
Brazilian Rogerio couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he gazed at his gorgeous bride.
A beautiful small ceremony on the deck of a cottage. Instead of the wedding happening in December, the honeymoon to Brazil will be instead.
Rochelle borrowed her friends wedding dress which complimented her style perfectly. Not to mention it fit her like a glove.
Technology recorded the whole ceremony for Rogerio’s family who couldn’t be there.
A sprinkle of friends and the West Family celebrated with the elated couple.
One word. WOW!
And then the bridal party and I went off and had way too much fun. Cold fun. But fun none the less.
This is one of my favourite shots. Reminds me of a comical 1950’s.
Rochelle couldn’t quite believe how well everything has come together. 2 months engaged and 2 weeks to plan. As if it’s all meant to be. And like any wedding, there was a couple of hick ups. And although annoying, it just means she got to feel the stress of most brides. Hehe. It all worked out in the end.
Alright I’m just going to say it (after all I did say it to them)… They are going to make some good looking babies!
And then down to the waterfront for a few more.
My other favourite. This has the 1950’s written all over it! I LOVE IT!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Conceicao. (And that’s not even the full name).
Thank you. I witnessed something pretty special yesterday. A special couple, surrounded by special people. The kind that wrap a blanket around your heart.
You ooze happy energy. You deserve great things in life and that’s exactly what you’ll receive.
It was a privilege to be apart of your day. Thank you for having me Rochelle, Rogerio, Jess, Caroline, Sam and Bruno! I had a cold blast! :)
Big Hugs xo
